Ameia Yen-PattonGeorgia P. Ameia Yen-Patton is a board-certified Gerontological Nurse Practitioner (GNP), educator, and researcher with a PhD in nursing. Ameia (this is her Chinese birth name, which she prefers) has practiced as a GNP in acute care, home care, and long-term care settings in Massachusetts and New York for more than 25 years. Her work with vulnerable populations includes families living and dying with HIV/AIDs and adults with end-stage terminal illnesses. She is an expert on care of people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Her professional affiliations include the advisory board for Coastline Elderly Services, Nursing Honor Society/Sigma Theta Tau International, Eta Omega Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses, American Society of Pain Management, American Geriatric Society, Alzheimer’s disease and Related Dementias of Eastern New England, Massachusetts Association of Older Americans, and American Psychological Association. She is married with one son.
