Bridget Siljander, the president of the Direct Support Professional Association of Minnesota and one of the DCA’s Direct Care Worker Specialists, testified last month before the Health and Human Services Budget Division of the Minnesota Senate Finance Committee. She urged the committee not to cut the budget for the state’s personal care assistance program.

I agree 100% of the testimony of Siljander..I also work as a PCA and teach Special ED 1-1 with Autism and Celebral Palsy. It is really sad when we work this hard and do not get paid for our efforts of caring for the young and old. People would not be ablt to stay in their own homes without us..Look at all the money they are saving for keeping them out of Nursing Homes.
The DCA is lucky to have a spokesperson who has the capacity to speak with such arresting honesty and passion about these important issues. Siljander seems to be a bright and articulate voice for those who deserve high-quality representation at the state and local level.
She is fantastic and thank you for the comment. Stay tuned.
